Fun With Your Cat During Self-Isolation

We’re all self-isolating and staying home, which means lots more time to spend with your beloved pets.
If you’re following along on social media, then you’ve probably seen some of the funny #QuarantineCats photos and videos and how other pet owners are enjoying the company of their cats.
This is just one of the fun things you can do with your cat during self-isolation. Here are a few other ideas to make the most of your time during the coronavirus pandemic:

Watch bird feeder videos
Sit back, relax and watch some bird feeder videos on YouTube. If you haven’t seen these, they’re a great way for city folk to enjoy the country feel of watching birds from all over the world busy themselves at the bird feeder. And so relaxing. Your cat will eat it up!
Make DIY toys for your cat
Get crafty and create some DIY toys for your cat to enjoy. For example, you could put some treats inside an empty plastic bottle, something big enough your cat can reach their paw into, and sit back and enjoy the antics.
Kitty spa day
Have a spa day. Every cat loves a good brushing and grooming. Maybe try out some new products like anti-static spray so you can brush without causing electricity to spark from their fur. And don’t forget the nails.
Fish TV
Fish and aquarium videos is another visually stimulating way to entertain yourself and your cat at the same time. Some cats get a thrill from nature shows, especially on a high-def big screen TV. So stream some David Attenborough shows, check out Blue Planet and maybe some of the big cats too.
Boxes of fun
Find some empty boxes and place one in the centre of the room or better yet, beside your desk so you can work from home without too much interruption. Cats love boxes and will do almost anything to hide out in one for a few hours.
There’s always #lolcats
Enjoy some #lolcats cat videos and photos on social media. You and your cat can spend hours purr-oosing Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. Highly entertaining and will take your mind off what’s going on in the world right now.
Rub-a-dub kitty
Put a bunch of toys in (an empty, dry) bathtub like a bunch of foam balls or some wind-up toys and let your cat chase them around the tub. While you’re there, grab the kitty laser and a feather wand and watch the fun unfold.
So many creative ways to have fun with your cat during self-isolation. It helps to keep your spirits up and reminds you of just how much we have to be grateful for in a time when we need it the most. Stay safe, stay home.
