These felines have a propensity to problem solve, hunt with outstanding ease and even elude their owners when the situation calls for it (like nail clipping time or the annual trip to the vet). The Abyssinian

Not only is this cat long, lean and agile, but it makes the list of having a higher intelligence than the average Moggie. This breed can learn how to play fetch, walk on a leash and is super quick to figure out how to reach those high-up places. Part of its propensity for being the brainiest may be its intense curiosity. The Aby is always busy finding new ways to get into things and to be the center of attention.

The Turkish Van

Even though this breed has earned the reputation for being a bit of an oaf, it is still one of the smarter feline breeds. It can be taught to do tricks and to play fetch, but watch out as it’s natural love for the water and clumsy tendencies may just land it in the toilet more than once. Speaking of its love for water, the Turkish Van has also been known to learn how to turn on a faucet for a cool clean drink of H2O.

The Scottish Fold

The folded ears of this breed is not its only endearing quality; it loves to be with its human pet parent. In fact, this feline will actually sit and watch television with you! Pet parents of this breed say if they want to hide something from this curious cat, they must do so when its not looking or it will remember and later retrieve it. In addition, the Cornish Rex is easily trained and has even been used in therapy work.
