Cat Lovers On The Prowl For The Hottest Internet Cat Video Festival

Whether you’re a dog person or a cat person, you can’t argue with the fact that #LOLCats are pretty darn funny. What started as one viral cat video on YouTube has spread all over the Internet and turned into something of a craze. People love funny cat videos and to prove it, there is now a festival to honour them in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
Simply called the Internet Cat Video Festival, this event is the hottest feline festival this year, selling out one month before the show. The main attraction is a 90-minute video compilation of #LOLCats! Curated by William Braden creator of Henri Le Chat Noir, and the Center’s own Joel Shepard, it is the hottest thing since #LOLCats first hit the Internet!
And if that’s not enough, the Internet Cat Video Festival is host to a number of other attractions and exhibits like the one from the Cat Museum of San Francisco about cats on film. Or you could get your kitty palm read by a cat astrologist, or maybe a cattoo of your favourite feline from the tattoo parlour. Or stop by the San Francisco Animal Care and Control and adopt (another) adorable kitten.
Cat lovers go catnip crazy over these kinds of screenings. In fact, Shepard said that the festival was so popular this year, he could’ve sold ten times the number of tickets. It’s not the only one of its kind, either. More and more cat video festivals like this one are cropping up all over the world, and cat videographers are beginning to take their craft very seriously.
