Canadian Pet Expo Event Details

Pet lovers in Canada will be pleased to learn that the Canadian Pet Expo will open their doors this year for the first time since the pandemic lockdown. 

 

The Canadian Pet Expo (CPE) is Canada’s largest pet event, filling four halls of the International Centre each year in the spring. With over 300 vendor booths and one-of-a-kind events, Spring Canadian Pet Expo will take place over Easter Long Weekend this year: Friday April 15 to Sunday April 17, 2022.

 

The pet expo promises to be a safe, fun-filled three-day event for pet lovers of all ages and their pets too. Make sure to register your pets before bringing them down to the Expo, as they will need to be up to date on all their shots. Other safety requirements include:

 

  • All pets must be on a 48” leash and no greater. 
  • Smaller pets best attend the event in a pet stroller or pet carrier. 

 

With so many new pets finding their ways into their forever homes throughout the pandemic, CPE expects to see a lot of first-time pet owners attending this year. With this in mind, CPE has set up booths called “Ask the Trainer,” where you can get tips on socializing your newest member of the family. It’s all completely free and part of CPE’s message to promote responsible pet ownership.

 

THE CPE Canine Fun Zone

 

Regulars to the CPE will be happy to see the return of the Canine Fun Zone, where your dogs can join in the games and feel like a canine pet superstar. Under the watchful eye of professional trainers, your dog can try out dock diving, lure coursing and scent detection. It the largest course of its kind in Canada and dogs love it.

TICA Cat Show

 

For cat lovers, you don’t want to miss the TICA Cat Show – two full days and five judging rings with all of your favourite feline breeds from the Abyssinian to the Sphynx on show. TICA is the largest cat registry in the world and is joined this year by its UK affiliate London Cats Worldwide and a judging panel of expert cat judges from all over the world. Who will win the championship title this year? 

 

Grooming Competition

 

Sit back and watch the fur fly when the best dog groomers from across the country compete in the CPE Groom Championship. Pick up a few grooming tips and witness the newest techniques in shears, shavers, curls, trims and styles. The before and afters will amaze you! 

 

CPE Small Animal Village

 

Small animal breeders, vets and reps will be happy to answer any questions you might have. If you have a pet hamster, Guinea pig or rabbit, the Small Animal Village is where you want to be.
