The domestic cat’s also known as feral cats are a member of cat family with fur and are small. These cats can tame and can live in a house with a human being as a pet. There are different types of domestic cats, which are alike in anatomy with the flexible strong body, sharp claws, and teethers that can easily hunt small prey. These cats can hear sounds of very low frequency and can see in the dark. Their breeding rate is also very high.

Evolution and Taxonomy:
The domestic cats belong to the same ancestors including tiger, cougars, lion any several other animals. These cats are genus Felis family part, which consists of about seven spices. The family members of this group found all over the world, which includes south Asia jungle cats, African wildcats, European wild cats and Arabian sand cats.
Reproduction:
The female domestic cats have several periods of heat in a year. This period comes after every fifteen days and lasts for 5 days approximately. The males will win right female for mating by the fight. In the start, the female hesitate but with the time she permits the male to mate. The female cat gives birth to almost seven kittens after 67 days.
Physiology:
These cats can be train and can live with a human being without any danger. They resemble with carnivores and have some different characteristics as well. These cats can bear high temperature up to 52 degree Celsius, unlike human beings. Domestic cats safeguard themselves from heat by flow of blood and evaporate heat through mouth
Senses:
The hearing and visioning sense of these cats are very good they can hear the very low sound as well as very high sound similarly they can see clearly in dark . Their eyes have tapetum lucidum that reproduces light while passing from the retina.
Health:
The average life period of cats has rise due to the awareness of different diseases in cats and their treatment. Now some spices of domestic cat can live up to 30 years.
Diseases:
Domestic cats can experience many health problems, including parasites, infectious diseases, chronic disease and injuries. Different vaccinations are offer by vets to safeguard them from diseases. These cats should get regular treatment to get rid of parasites such as fleas and worms.
Feeding and Hunting:
These cats eat and hunt small prey like rodents, birds and are famous as pest control as they hunt all small prey and eat them. They eat small meals and their frequency depends on different individuals.
The domestic’s cats hunt prey by two strategies, by observing the activity of prey and then attacking or waiting to trap until the prey come very near to easily attack. These cats do not like cold and wet food.
