Flavoured Dog Toys | Super Dog Toy!
Have you heard of flavoured dog toys!? There is indeed such a thing! It’s a bit of a trend that has been circulating throughout the conversations of the Toronto dog parks that I like to go to with my pooch. As if dog toys aren’t enticing enough to our furry friends!
I was at a Toronto dog park one afternoon and one of the gentlemen there was telling me about this super-toy that a women had brought to the dog park earlier that week. The way he spoke about it made it sound like the absolute miracle of all dog toys.
It was a squishy ball to be thrown – a squishy ball that squeaked AND tasted like bacon! There probably isn’t anything that could be added to this toy that would make it any more interesting for your canine pal. As the man pointed out though – there was an inevitable problem with this toy – it was too good.
Because the toy was so amazing all the dogs wanted it! Anyone who’s ever been to a dog park or owned a dog knows that it’s bad news when all of the dogs want the same thing – you can imagine the chaos that must have ensued. Fortunately I wasn’t there at the time – but I can only imagine. I know that if my furry little buddy had come across that glorious bacon smelling toy – she would have lost her little doggy wits trying to claim it as her own!
The women who had the toy for her dog coincidentally came into the park just after we were talking about it and of course we asked her where she got it. Canadian Tire! Can you believe it? Of all the places to find something so incredible – it was found at a place that specializes in cars and home repair!
Well, I thought I would put together a list of other super awesome flavored toys and where you can get them – so here it is:
Nylon Bone Chews flavored with beef: Carried at Pets at Home – an online pet etailer. Although I’m sure you can get this one or something similar just about anywhere.
Double Nylon Bone Chew Textured and Flavored like bacon: Carried at Chewy.com another online pet etailer.
Flavoured Tennis Balls: Carried at Walmart and probably a few other locations as well and is available online.
The flavors listed in the Walmart 4-pack are mint, peanut butter, chocolate and vanilla. Personally I think these taste pretty yummy for people – if anyone ever wanted to eat a tennis ball that is. But, I don’t know how a dog might find them – peanut butter yes, dogs LOVE peanut butter. But, the other three I must be honest – I am a bit skeptical about those, after all dogs aren’t even supposed to eat real chocolate.
I might just try these out with my furry pal and write another post about it later on!
But remember – don’t bring these toys to the dog parks – keep them at home for just your canine pal to play with!
