Make Your Dog Jump For Joy Over These Halloween Treats

My dog loves it when I cook up a batch of dog treats. Actually, my dog loves it when I cook or prepare anything in the kitchen! But with the dog treats, it’s a special time for both of us. She knows these are her treats, and she also knows that if she’s good, she’ll get one or two. The best part of all is the look she gets in her eyes when I say Yummy treats for Layla! It makes my heart sing for joy! Which just goes to show, it’s the simple things in life that matter.

Make Your Dog Jump For Joy Over These Halloween Treats

It reminds me of the days when my own mom would cook up a batch of hermit cookies. I’d watch with wide eyes as she added all the yummy ingredients to the bowl. Just like Layla, I’d fidget in anticipation and let out the occasional whimper, thinking of that happy moment when I got to lick the bowl! And how I would go at it with wild abandon, sticking my whole head in the bowl and savouring every last bit with a series of audible m…mm…mmms, just like Layla!

If I had a tail like Layla, it would begin to wag at the sight of those delicious treats cooking in the oven. As the irresistibly sweet aroma wafted through the air, my mouth would begin to water and I thought I would simply burst if I had to wait another minute. But somehow I managed to suffer through, and when the finished cookies were pulled out of the oven, I’d jump and spin and sometimes sing, I’d be so happy – just like Layla.

So that’s why I recommend homemade dog treats for Halloween or anytime of year. I hope you have as much fun making these tasty treats as Layla and I do.
