Terms

How Petbook works, what we promise, and what we ask of you. Last updated September 5, 2026.

Who we are

Petbook (petbook.today) is run by Olamisan Solutions Inc., an Ontario corporation. Questions, problems, or anything about an order: hello@petbook.today. We read everything, and you can also write to us through the feedback page.

You need to be 16 or older

You must be at least 16 to have a Petbook account. If you're a parent and an account here belongs to your child, email us and we'll remove it, no questions asked.

We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it. A younger family member is of course welcome to enjoy the pets alongside you — on your account, not their own.

Your account and what you post

Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Post photos and words you have the right to share, and keep it decent — nothing illegal, hateful, harassing, or designed to deceive. What you post stays yours; you're giving us permission to show it on Petbook, nothing more.

We can remove content or close an account that breaks these rules. If we close yours, we'll tell you why.

Collar tags: free and printed

The QR collar tag image is free, always — download it and print it wherever you like. Scanning a tag and reaching a pet's page is free too, and stays free: a tag never stops working because of anything to do with money.

We also print tags for you at CA$24.99 plus tax, shipping included, within Canada. The printed tag is still a one-time purchase: pay once, own it. Tag Protection, described below, is a separate and optional subscription — you never need it for a tag to work, and the free tag and the scan page stay free whether you have it or not.

Tag Protection (optional subscription)

Tag Protection is a yearly subscription for one pet's tag. It adds extras on top of the tag; it never changes what the tag itself does. There are two versions, and which one you get depends on whether that pet has a printed tag from us:

  • With a printed tag: scan alerts, scan history, and one replacement printed tag a year, for CA$19.99 a year plus tax.
  • With a free, home-printed tag: scan alerts and scan history, for CA$9.99 a year plus tax. There is nothing of ours to replace — the artwork is free to download and print again whenever you like.

It renews automatically. Each subscription runs for one year from the day you pay and renews for another year at the end of it, at the then-current price shown on your pet's tag page, charged to the card you paid with, until you cancel. We email you a reminder before each renewal. If the price is going to change, that reminder says so.

Cancel any time from your pet's tag page, or by emailing hello@petbook.today. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the year you've already paid for — the extras keep running until then, and you're not charged again.

Refunds. Ask within 14 days of any charge (the first one or a renewal) and we refund it in full, including tax, as long as no replacement tag was claimed in that time. A refund ends the protection right away rather than at the end of the year. Outside those 14 days, cancel and the year runs out as paid.

Replacement tags (printed-tag version only): one per year, starting 60 days into your subscription, for a tag that's been lost or damaged. Send a photo of the damage from the tag page; we check it against the order on file and ship the replacement like any order, within Canada. A lost tag is not a reason to wait — the free artwork is always there to print in the meantime.

What an alert says. An alert tells you when the tag was scanned — the time and a link to the tag page — and never who scanned it or where. Petbook doesn't track the people who scan tags. If your pet has an active lost alert, scan alerts are free for everyone, subscription or not: when a pet is actually missing, that ping is safety, not a feature.

If a subscription lapses for any reason, only the extras switch off. The tag keeps scanning and the pet's page keeps loading, exactly as the section above promises. A subscription keeps the terms it was started under, the same as an order.

Orders, shipping and refunds

  • Each tag is printed to order, so expect about two weeks from payment to your door. We'll email you when it's paid and again when it ships.
  • Cancel any time before it ships and we refund you in full — the whole amount including tax, back to the card you paid with. Cancel from your pet's collar-tag page, or just email us.
  • If a tag arrives damaged, wrong, or doesn't scan, tell us and we'll replace it or refund it. That's on us, not you.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

Lost & Found is a tool, not a guarantee

Tags, alerts and finder messages are here to give a lost pet a better chance of getting home. We can't promise anyone will scan a tag, that a message will arrive in time, or that a pet will be found. Please don't rely on Petbook as your only safeguard — a collar with your phone number and a microchip are still worth having.

Articles aren't veterinary advice

Anything you read here is general information written by people who love animals, not medical advice. If something is wrong with your pet, call a veterinarian.

The site itself

Petbook is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will never be down or never lose anything, and our responsibility to you is limited to what you've paid us. Some places don't allow that kind of limit, in which case it doesn't apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.

Leaving

You can archive your account at any time from Account — everything is hidden and nothing is deleted, and signing back in restores it. Ask us to delete it for good and we will. What we collect and what you can turn off is on the privacy page.

Changes

If we change these terms we'll update the date at the top, and we'll tell you directly if the change actually affects you. An order already placed, or a subscription already started, keeps the terms it was placed under.
