How to help your pet avoid being bored.

It is not always easy to ensure that your pets are happy and entertained, I mean let’s face it there will be times where no one is home.

There are times where you head straight to bed after a long day of work and so forth. Although it sounds strange to try to keep your furry friend entertained. However, there are various ways that Dogs act when home alone and bored, shoes and cables are victims whom would be able to testify.

A few things to help keep the boredom at bay.

Invest in a toy for your dog. There are certain doggy toys out there that were developed with the primary purpose in mind to keeping your furry friend entertained for those hours while you are away from home. These could include a range of toys such as:

The Kong Toy is a perfect example of this; it contains a small amount of peanut butter which 's hard to reach. This may entice your furry friend into hours of licking, nibbling and all in all overall distraction while they try to figure out the route to their delicious treat.

For a more expensive investment, you can purchase a toy that moves on its own and can even talk with your pet, an example of such a toy would be the Talking Bubble Ball.

Be sure that there is much space available for them.

The first easiest and cruelest way to ensure that your furry friend is bored is to restrict the space that they have to roam, through either locking them inside a small apartment or restricting access to the yard. Be sure to always allow your dog to roam the house as this is their “territory.”

Being locked in a room for an overly extended period will not only cause boredom but also anxiety and in severe cases panic (this is undoubtedly when household items begin to suffer).

However, this does not mean that you are liable to keeping your house unlocked through the day. There are temporary puppy doors that can be installed so as to enable your furry friend to get in and out the house. However, if you do decide that locking them outside in the Garden is best. Be sure to keep in mind a bed for them to lay as well as shelter for if it rains.

Leave the radio on while you are out.

This may sound absurd. However, it is important to remember that dog’s ears are a lot more sensitive than ours, low vibrations can distract them from looming boredom. Other sources of sound such as squeaky toys will work just as well.
