Random Bursts of Energy

Does your cat suddenly get up and tear through the house for no apparent reason? Although, it may seem weird, your cat is actually releasing all that pent up energy or “vacuum energy.” This is a very common behavior is house cats and can be quite entertaining for one to witness. Some pet parents report their energizer-kitties to actually bounce off furniture, try to climb up walls and even engage is full-circle bouts around the home. The next time your cat releases that stored-up energy, remember it is capable of reaching speeds up to 30 miles per hour, so you better hide the valuables!

The Leg Sprawl

We’ve probably all seen our cats sitting with their legs sprawled wide open “taking care of business” on their tail ends; it can be quite embarrassing in the middle of a room full of guests. However, according to experts, when your feline is lying about with its legs splayed and its underbelly exposed it is a true sign of relaxation and trust. This is because all animals view their bellies as a vulnerable area, so when your kitty is relaxing sprawled out, dead-to-the-world, you know you’ve really earned its trust and respect.

One of the awesome qualities about our feline friends is their ability to clean up after themselves…well at least as best they can without opposable thumbs. But have you ever gone to clean out the litter box and find an uncovered feces? This could be your cat’s way of showing you “who’s boss.” Cat lovers report their felines acting out in this manner after they have been scolded. The Face Sniff Test

Cats are naturally curious animals and love to explore the world around them, that also includes you and your face. My cat will often approach me and give me a good once-over, face sniff test. He will circle around my cheeks, mouth and forehead, then finish up with a few quick sniffs of my eyeball. I always thought this was adorable and coined the behavior “eye kisses.” Well it turns out, according to our feline experts, this is a very normal action for all the feline species. Cats enjoy the warmth and scent of our skin and breath so let your kitty give you a good sniff test, it means he loves you!
