Love for Pets on Valentines Day
Ahhhh, it’s that time of year again and love is in the air! The foster mom of my lovely pooch once said to me, “all men know that women love their dogs more than them”. Now, I don’t want to speak on behalf of all puppy owning women, but having owned my own little pooch now for a couple of years I must say she was certainly not far off from the truth.
Of course, the love we have for our tiny furry friends is a completely different love than we have for our partners or children, or say… that absolutely delicious pizza we had last night. But, love it is indeed and in a very BIG way.
Here’s a super cute animal love compilation – ugh it’s too cute! At :53 we get to see a pooch and horse friendship that is just to die for. I’ve been seeing more and more videos of dog and horse friendships, an unlikely partnership, but oh my how they make the greatest companions!
Here’s a few fun ideas of how you can show your best friend some extra loving this time of year:
- Live in the city? Have a pooch? Take yourself and your pooch buddy to one of the many gorgeous parks in the city. Toronto especially has a TON of amazing dog parks and long winding trails. Not to mention, a lot of dogs absolutely LOVE the snow!
- Have a tiny little rodent friend? Why not role some large yummy nuts in some peanut butter and then role them in bird seed? Yup, that’s definitely a wonderful and probably overly filling treat for your little critter.
- Meowwww! Oh, you have a cat do you? Okay, well here’s a link to some fun home made treat ideas to make for your kitty to show them some extra loving:

So, in the spirit of St. Valentines let us not forget about the sweetest little creatures in our lives and let us all remember the love they give to us and maybe treat them to a special Valentines Day treat of their own! I’m not pushing for any kind of expensive Valentines Day treat or anything, but my little friend certainly loves a nice juicy piece of steak and I’m pretty sure she really feels the lovin’ when she gets one!
