The Skinny on Mini Kitties

The dog world is exploding with miniature and teacup versions of canines that were already on the smaller size - these pooches are usually produced by breeding runt-to-runt and can have a whole host of genetic problems, but that’s beside the point. However, in the feline arena, there are some breeds that are just naturally smaller. Let’s explore the skinny on these mini kitties!
The Munchkin
Coined the “Dachshund” of the feline world, the Munchkin is as its name applies; short, small and adorable. This cat weighs in from 5 to 9 pounds full grown, has stubby legs, is energetic, playful and loves to run and jump just like its longer-legged counterparts. In addition, the Munchkin has also earned the title of “magpie” for its propensity of all things shiny. Hide those valuables or this clever cat may just stash them away for a later use.
The Singapura
This little fella is said to have been developed from the street cats of Singapore, but regardless of its humble beginnings cat fanciers are just calling the Singapura purrfectly pint-sized. It only weighs in at around 8 pounds full grown and has big round eyes and a huge bouncy personality that is eager to join in on all the family activities.

The Devon Rex
With its big eyes, enormous ears and “pixie-like” face, the Devon Rex is one small cat that is big on looks and personality. This feline enjoys the company of its humans, can be taught to do tricks, walk on a leash and is also called the “clown” of the cat world because of its silly antics. Plus, it has a coat to die for; it’s soft, curly and oh so petable!
The Minskin
This dwarf variety of cat is a cross between a Munchkin and a Sphynx. Among its many amazing traits is its unique appearance. The Minskin has huge eyes and ears, a wedge-shaped head and either little or no hair at all. It only grows up to around 6 pounds, but is loaded with a friendly, fun and exuberant personality!

The Oriental
The slender and leggy build of the Oriental gives it an air of elegance. It has huge triangular ears, almond-shaped eyes and a personality that just wants to be doing everything its human’s are doing. It is also an intelligent breed that weighs from 5 to 10 pounds full grown. Plus, it comes in over 600 color choices!

These cats may be small in stature, but they are huge in personality and appearance.
