Your pet's page can now bring them home — and four more things new on PetBook

For a good while, this blog was the busiest part of PetBook — the social side sat shelved while we rebuilt it from the ground up. That rebuild is now live, and it changes what a pet's page here is for: it's no longer just a profile, it's the thing that can bring your pet home. Here's the tour.

🏷️ A free QR collar tag, minted from your pet's page

Open your pet's profile and tap Collar tag. PetBook generates print-ready tag artwork with a QR code that's unique to your pet — download it and have it printed or engraved on any tag service, or DIY it. We designed the artwork so the code still scans after being cropped into a circle and shrunk onto a 30 mm tag.

When someone finds your pet and scans the tag, they land on a simple page: your pet's name, photo, and a message box — no app, no account needed. Their message is emailed to you immediately, and your email address is never shown to them. It works the moment your pet slips out, before you've even noticed they're gone.

🚨 Lost & Found alerts, built for sharing

If a pet does go missing, Lost & Found gets the word out. Reporting your pet lost creates a public alert page — last seen where, photo, what to do — that you can share to Facebook, Nextdoor, or the neighbourhood group chat. Anyone who spots your pet can send a sighting without signing up, and you get an email right away, not a notification waiting for your next visit. When the tail wags home, one tap marks the story reunited.

📸 Pet pages that look like your camera roll

Profiles now open onto a photo grid — every photo post as a tile, tap for full size, swipe through multi-photo posts, and lick, bite or comment right from the viewer. The feed learned some new tricks too: a Suggested for you strip introduces you to pets you don't follow yet, and Discover is a whole feed of them. Follow one from the post itself and their photos start arriving in your feed.

⚙️ Your account, your call

The tools we'd want as pet owners ourselves: choose which emails you get (and unsubscribe from news with one click, right from the email), archive your account if you need a break, remove a pet's page, or mark a companion as passed away — their photos stay, gently, without the reminders. All of it self-serve from your account page. No emailing support, no waiting.
