If you’re looking for the best place to celebrate the Holiday season with your favourite pet, then crawl, slither, hop, walk, swim, or fly down to the annual Toronto Christmas Pet Show this November 23 & 24th at the International Centre in Mississauga. All pets are welcome, as long as they’re accompanied by an adult human! (Download the waiver for more details).

 

So what can you expect from the Toronto Christmas Pet Show this year?

 

There’s something for every pet lover and lots of good stuff to look forward to at the pet show this season. If you’re familiar with the spring Canadian Pet Expo, then you can expect to find your usual favourite shows and events taking place at the winter show.

Royal Canin Crown Classic Dog Show

 

Hosted by the Aurora District Kennel Club and the Toronto Christmas Pet Show, this is a bonafide Canadian Kennel Club dog show, including:

 

  • 3 X All Breed Shows
  • 3 X Limited Breed Shows
  • Multiple Breed Specialties
  • A number of Breed Boosters

 

If you love dogs, you won’t want to miss this show. You won’t find so many purebred family and champion show dogs in one place again (well at least not until the next pet expo in the spring!)

 

The International Cat Association (TICA) Cat Show 

 

TICA is the world’s largest registry of pedigreed and domestic cats, which helps preserve genetic bloodlines and characteristics of your favourite breeds of cats.

 

This year’s cat show – A Canuck Christmas – will feature a huge variety of the most beautiful cats in a 16-ring alternative format show from The Canuck Cat Club. 

 

Aqua Dogs Dock Diving

 

Some dogs love nothing more than frolicking about in the water, but these dogs are serious sportsmen. Competing for the titles and prizes for Go Long, Go Fetch, and Go High, these dogs will be sure to impress you with their athletic abilities. Great family fun, especially if you’re sitting near the splash zone! 

 

Lure Course

 

For those zippy dogs who love to run and chase, check out the Lure Course. It’s a specially-crafted obstacle course full of jumps, curves and straightaways that will entice your dog’s chase instinct. Safety-conscious course professionals operate a mechanical lure that is sure to trigger the chase in almost every dog!

 

CPE Small Animal Village

 

Wander into the CPE Small Animal Village and engage with some magnificent creatures such as guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, etc. Pet professionals will be on staff to answer any questions about your furry favourites. 

 

CPE Bird Zone

 

If you prefer your friends feathered, then fly over to the CPE Bird Zone and experience an exotic world of some of the most colourful birds on the planet. There will be breeders on site to educate you, as well as parrot experts from the Ethical Parrot Owners community to show you around.

As usual, you can find lots of goodies in the marketplace, as well as pet spas, photo booths, and of course, Santa’s Village.
